I tend to wear more lipstick during autumn and winter than the rest of the year, I feel my most comfortable fashion and beauty wise so I tend to go for “adventurous” shades as well as a few favourites. I thought it would be nice to share which MAC lipsticks I get the most wear out of in the cooler months.
is the lightest and “nudest” lipstick I own and probably is the only pink shade of lipstick that I really love and it’s been well used as you can see from the photo. It’s warmer tone means it’s not going to wash you out after your summer tan fades plus it looks fabulous on us fairer skinned ladies. It’s a crème sheen which does mean it’s little slippery and this does like to travel however the shade is so beautiful I don’t care. I really enjoy wearing this on my minimal makeup days where I literally wear a small amount of foundation mixed in with my moisturiser, a little blush, no mascara, I do subtle brows and then this lipstick.
Plumful is probably my favourite lipstick of all time, the reason why? Because it’s a “your lips but better” shade. This plumy pink shade is perfect for every day and the lustre finish means it’s rather sheer but I find you can build on it to get a deeper colour. I should also tell you that plumful looks fantastic on any skin tone and is a perfect everyday colour.
Rebel is the bravest lipstick I have, it’s a dark berry with a cool undertone, it looks really scary in the tube but once on the lips the berry really comes through and you can always blot it to make it more of a stain. I don’t wear this as often as the others but that’s purely because I am scared!
Russian Red is one of MAC’s iconic lipsticks, it’s a deep, matte red that is perfect for us paler ladies. Even though it’s matte it isn’t at all drying and goes on very easily, I suggest using a brush to apply it as I tried using it straight out the tube and I made a mess, word of warning this stuff stains your face! I also recommend you use a lip liner to make this last longer, I use MAC’s liner in brick which in my opinion is the best match but I have seen people use cherry liner, also from MAC.
Have you tried any of these shades? Which are your favourite MAC lipsticks for A/W?
