My Weekly Pamper Night

Every week I dedicate one night, usually a Tuesday, to having a good pamper. I have a nice long bath whilst catching up on my guilty pleasure, ice road truckers. Paint my nails for the 100th time that week because I’m so indecisive and then I give myself the mother of all facial pamper.

I start by getting my pores open with a towel on my head over a bowl of hot camomile water and have a good steam, sounds strange using a tea but believe me my skin feels fab for it plus I find it calms a few angry spots. The first products I actually use are the body shop’s seaweed pore cleansing facial exfoliator and the deep cleansing facial wash from the same range. I go in first with the facial wash making sure to lather it well, getting rid of any dirt and excess oil. Then I take my time with the exfoliator, gentling massaging it in an upward motion over my face and concentrating on my more problematic areas like the nose, upper cheeks and chin.

My face should be feeling pretty darn fresh but I go back to my bowl of camomile water (heated up of course) and allow the steam to open those pores back up. Now for my favourite part and most relaxing, the seaweed ionic clay mask. Once I’ve patted my face dry I take a small amount of clay and begin with my nose, working my way out covering the rest of my face. I don’t like to pack it on too thick or thin, somewhere in between that only takes 15-20 min to dry, enough time to make a cup of tea and check twitter. When the mask is dry or when that itch on my nose is too much to bare, I wash it off with some warm water and thoroughly dry my face.

I give my skin a break for 5 min and then it’s time to give myself the mother of all deep exfoliates with the PMD personal Microderm. The PMD gets rid of dead skin cells and reduces the appearance of wrinkles by stimulating cell renewal and collagen production in the upper layers of skin. It takes not time at all to do one treatment on yourself, I spend 5 minutes doing my entire face and neck. It’s truly a wonder product and if you want to know how well it worked for me then check out my review.

Just to get all the dead skin off my face, I do one more wash with the deep cleansing facial wash. As the PMD personal Microderm does such a deep exfoliate any product put on after such as a serum or moisturiser will work to it’s full potential. Which is why I apply the InstaNaturals Hyluronic Acid Serum to carry on where the PMD left off with anti ageing, I work it into my face and neck, this sinks in really fast and leaves the skin so beautifully soft. Last but not least is the seaweed night treatment gel, this helps to balance excess oil throughout the night and put back moisture where it’s needed and to be honest my skin needs it after the PMD.

So there we have it, a rather in depth post about my weekly pamper routine but one I’ve been meaning to share. I’m aware that everyone does skincare differently and what works for me may not work for you. I have been doing it this way for a few months and honestly my skin has improved immensely. And FYI, I have combination skin :).

Do you have a weekly pamper night? What are your favourite products to use?

This sounds amazing! I'm rarely in my bath for more than 10 minutes before my toddler jumps in and joins me. Right now my skin care routine is bare minimum. Wash, use a standard micellar water for extra cleaning then a light daily moisturiser. Definitely something I need to work on
