PMD Personal Microderm

PMD Personal Microderm £150*
There comes a time in everyone’s life when you find a product that lives up to every expectation and you fall so madly in love with it, that you’ve no idea how you survived without it before. That’s how I feel about the PMD Personal Microderm.
So what is the PMD Personal Microderm you ask? Well straight from the horses mouth, the press release that is ..

“The handheld PMD Personal Microderm system delivers the same anti-ageing and skin purifying results as microdermabrasion treatments offered in medical spas and salons, but at a fraction of the price. It combines the power of deep exfoliation with vacuum suction to leave the skin looking brighter, smoother and more rejuvenated than ever. The PMD uses the same aluminum oxide crystals as found in professional mechanism which make up a flat, coarse disc that has a deeply exfoliating effect on the skin. The dead skin cells are instantly removed by the vacuum action of the device, which activates the innate skin healing mechanism that stimulates cell renewal and collagen production in the upper layers of skin.”

The system comes with one white disc, the training disc, which is for ultra sensitive skin, two grey discs for very sensitive skin, two blue discs for sensitive skin and two green discs for medium strength abrasion. The small discs are used for the face and more delicate areas, whereas the large discs are for the body. Each disc will last for 2/4 treatments before needing to be replaced. You have two changeable nozzles for the different sized discs. You are also given a DVD and manual which I recommend you watch and then read, then watch the DVD again.

Now that I was clued up on how to use it, I began with a clean and dry face and neck, using the training disc, like the nice DVD lady tells you too, on the back of my hand first and then my neck. As I had no signs of irritation I then went on to use the grey disc on my face. I’m going to be honest my first time was scary, using something that is usually exclusive to the world of trained beauticians and fancy spa professionals terrified me, but my worries were for nothing. It is the easiest tool to use and a pleasure too, it really is very satisfying. It brought out the kid in me as it kind of feels like putting a hoover to your face, a very minuscule hoover of course! It takes me around five minutes to do my face and neck which I find so convenient, especially if like me, you prefer to do this before bed. I the apply any serums and moisturisers straight afterwards as they will sink in and work to their full potential which is another benefit of this amazing device.

It’s been a month after my first try and I’ve used the PMD four times and I have to say this is the most amazing product in the world. My face looks amazing, I am so impressed that I can hardly believe the results. My large pores have almost gone, not just reduced but disappeared, I still have a few pesky ones which will take a couple more goes but I am confident it won’t be long until I can wave goodbye to them. Because of that my blackheads are practically non existent, I have fewer breakouts than ever before, just my usual monthly one that appears around my lady time. My resting smile lines around my mouth and near my nose are less noticeable and also the crows feet that were appearing near my eyes have reduced. Overall my skin looks brighter and the redness I usually get on my cheeks and around my chin has gone. Also my face and neck feel amazingly smooth, baby smooth, I’ve always had rather tough/rough skin on my neck but it now feels fantastic. I have been using it on my stomach as I have a lot of small stretch marks and it’s really helped reduce those too, The amount of dead skin cells on my belly is crazy and I wouldn’t have known or been able to get rid of them if it wasn’t for the PMD.

I understand you may be skeptical because of the £150 price tag but I assure you it is more than worth the money. I’ve seen a six treatment course cost upwards of £300 and with this I can do twelve treatments by myself in the comfort of my own home for £150, you really can’t moan at that. Plus the replacement discs are cheap too, you can pick up four facial and two body discs for around £20 or less which is pretty amazing, I’m eyeing up the coarse discs so I can give myself a real deep exfoliate every once in a while.

You can pick up the PMD Personal Microderm from Harrods (in store & online) or at CurrentBody.com. And you can follow PMD on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Have you ever tried anything like this? Is it something you would be interested in using?

I've wanted to try something like this for ages after having a single treatment at a spa and loving the results. Maybe it will be a pre Christmas splurge x

I've never tried anything like this, but have seen loads of people giving really great reviews for products that give deep exfoliation. I couldn't justify the price tag right now but maybe in a few months I'll be all over this!

I still use mine when I feel the need and really like it. I wasn't too sure of the 'sucking' bit to start with but once I got used to it, so good x

Goodness me this sounds like a magical product! As a woman approaching the big 4-0 this would be something I probably should invest in.

I haven't used anything like this on my face, maybe now is the time. It's great to hear the replacement discs are only £20 so it's quite a good long term investment too.

I've never tried anything like it. The cost is high but not unrealistic. I might add it to my Christmas Wish List

It sounds interesting although I have never done anything like that to my face. I'm always scared of what it would do but now that I'm not getting any younger I should start checking this kind of products. Thanks for sharing, xx
