I was looking to go back to an old faithful foundation, MAC’s studio fix fluid in NC15, but as if by fate an Avon catalogue was pushed through my letterbox and after having a perusal, I happened upon this foundation, the ideal flawless invisible coverage.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a wonderful time bringing in the new year whatever you did. I decided to take a little break from blogging the last week or so, I needed time to get back into work and to just switch off from social media. But I have felt the need to sit at the laptop and write, so here we are and today I am talking about foundation, an Avon one at that.
The shade range of the ideal flawless is brilliant for a more affordable brand, I picked up the shade light pink and although it’s near perfect I do think I need something a little more yellowy. I may pick up the other lightest shade they do, ivory, and mix the two to create the ideal colour. But for now the light pink is fine.
Avon claim this to be full coverage but I would say it’s medium to full and very buildable, I tend to do two layers of this to cover any imperfections. It never appears too cakey which I think is down to me not using any powder over the top. However it does love to cling to dry patches so don’t skip out on the moisturiser and I highly recommend using a good primer, I’ve been loving the body shop’s Instablur.
Consistency wise it reminds me of studio fix, not runny but not too thick either, the perfect formulation I think. I always apply foundation with my hands and with ideal flawless it’s a must. I tried it with a brush but it looked awful but using your hands means the warmth from your fingers make this very easy to blend and you can go back in to buff with a brush or sponge after. It dries matte on the face and leaves me with dewy, velvety finish which I used to hate but I’ve become rather partial to.
I’m really impressed with this bargainous foundation and I will be repurchasing this over and over. I’ve actually got my eye on a few other bits from Avon, the damn catalogues are dangerous! Right now the ideal flawless is on offer on Avon’s website, you can pick it up for £7 rather than £12.
Have you tried the ideal flawless foundation? If so what did you think?
