The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream

seaweed day cream £11 – the body shop
I haven’t tried many day creams because most of them break me out or create more oil, but I found one which is the exception. I was browsing the body shop website at the beginning of the year and came across their “analyse my skin” section. After filling in details I was recommended their Seaweed products. I am so impressed with this range and can’t see myself using any other cream unless my skin changes dramatically.
Let me just get one complaint out the way, the pot isn’t big enough, Body Shop if you are reading this, can you make me a giant tub of this?!
On to the good bits or should I say AMAZING bits.
I have to say I enjoy applying this everyday it glides on my skin beautifully, the consistency is more water based like a serum or lotion, which means it absorbs so quickly into the skin, leaving it super soft. I get awfully dry skin on my nose, all year round, but summer it is worst due to sunburn, this is the only cream that has kept it at bay. I have heard a lot of people complaining about the smell of the seaweed products but they smell pretty high end to me, almost like spa skin products.
After five months of continuous use I’ve seen a dramatic difference in my skin, I’ve not had huge breakouts, I get the odd period spot but that’s never going to change. The mattifying properties are a dream, I can get through most of my day before any shine appears and it makes a perfect base for my make up (I don’t wear much, sometimes none).
I have to say for my combination skin this day cream is a gift from the gods and I will be purchase this over and over again. Look out over the next few weeks as I am reviewing two more products from the seaweed range.
Do you have a favoured day cream which is your holy grail?

I've never tried a mattifying cream before, but I will look out for one. I also have combination skin, so fingers crossed it will work just as well for me! x

This sounds good. I love Elemis pro collagen marine cream which is super light and smells gorgeous.

I've been trying one of their mattifying creams but found it was a still a little bit greasy despite being "mattifying". I'm putting it down to the fact that it's so sunny and super sweaty at the minute x

Do it is great and I used to be the same just using any old cream but it makes a real difference if you get something to help your skin out a bit.
