How To Add Clickable Links To Comments

This was the first html code I ever learnt and one I think every blogger should have in their arsenal. I for one love receiving comments from you all and even more when you leave me your links. Sometimes I have copy and paste the link to my search bar which can be time consuming, especially when nowadays we all want to be able to access a good read quickly.

That’s why today I decided to share with you all how to add a clickable blog link to a comment.
Pick the post you want to leave a comment on and type this simple code into the comment box …
<a href=”http://blog url here“>blog name here</a>
Obviously just replace the purple text with your own link and blog name.

My code would look like this …

<a href=”http://www.georgiapetite.co.uk”>Georgia Petite</a>

One common mistake some people make is leaving out the “http://” and only beginning their link with “www” this will just redirect your link to a blank page on that persons blog, the “http://” makes sure you are directing it to your own blog.
I hope you found this helpful, you can try it out in the comment section and leave me a cheeky plug to your blog.

Hi Georgia, useful blog post and a good bit of code to know. It is worth mentioning that lots of bloggers don't like links in the comment box though, but it's still a good one to learn πŸ™‚

I understand some people don't like them being left, I for one do, I love discovering new blogs and especially when people leave me clickable links. πŸ™‚

I must agree with Lynette, I prefer people not to leave links in the comments as this can be spammy and lead to broken links all over my site which I then have to spend time deleting at a later date.

I get some peoples points but the amount of times I get bloggers leave their blog link and it's not clickable is annoying to me, I want to read them, much easier than going through their avatar which usually leads to google plus and trawling posts for their site! Thanks for sharing πŸ™‚ x

Well you can always leave a message letting people know you don't want links left, it's not big deal. I just thought this would be a helpful post for some people who don't yet know how to leave their links.

Yes I totally understand some people not wanting links but I reckon it's a small percentage. Anyway I agree a non clickable link is super annoying, I just hope more people find this helpful rather than it being a post created by a blogging devil to spam people's blogs … πŸ˜‰
